Your O2 is one of later model, probably the best breed R5000 line, which
has RM5271 processor instead of original R5000 processor (hinv -v is vague
other than speed).  As long as I know, you're likely the first person who tried
NetBSD on L2-equipped RM5200.  It should not be a hard job to tailour 
NetBSD/sgimips for RM5200,  I think.
