I had the same problem with an XL-24 graphics card.
Using a serial cable works fine for me, since the graphics problem seems
to be well known.
The serial ports uses the Mac pinout and the Mac adapter I use works fine.
There is a manual how to make these cables somewhere on the net which
describes how to make these cables due to the fact that some Suns
use the same connector.
Btw: You need to compile the kernel yourself to get scsi-support.
I did that and could send you the kernel (our put it on a http-server).
