Unfortunately, I don't have advise for a newer userland, other than
maybe finding a newer snapshot of one of the other big-endian MIPS 
ports.

Yes, if you have a 200Mhz CPU. 8-)  The MIPS R4400 & R4600 master
clock runs at 200Mhz, which is then divided by 2 for 100Mhz internal
clock and then further divided for system interface clock (I think
this is is 50Mhz for a 200Mhz box).  This was mainly a bit of debug
output, which reports the internal clock rate and was never fixed 
up to prepresent the master clock rate.
