For all the SGI hardware that supports IRIX 6.5 it is an administrators
heaven. Since IRIX 6.5 it is possible to use the RoboInst sw to =
remotely
install a new release of IRIX live from a dist-server (while the system =
is
being used). As soon as the system is rebooted it will power up with =
the new
release of IRIX. Based on the kind of applications the machine is being =
used
for, the sysadm can pick the patches that he wants installed on the =
systems
as a standard package.

From what I hear from our customers IRIX is the least demanding OS to
maintain.=20
