NetBSD ppc64 & ppc64le support?

Has anyone looked into 64-bit PowerPC and POWER support (whether big- or little-endian) for NetBSD yet?

It seems to me that most of the pieces necessary to bring up a hypothetical "NetBSD/ofppc64” and/or “NetBSD/ofppc64le” under QEMU using VirtIO are already present, and the interesting/difficult work would be in handling whatever ppc vs ppc64 differences there are, and of course any “POWER/PowerPC is always big-endian” assumptions that have been made over the years.

That Linux has worked for ppc64 and ppc64le for years and the GNU toolchain supports it well should help enormously too, of course.
