Ahh, works well now. (And the fix was so simple that I could have seen
it myself. But sometimes I am blind. ;-) Sorry for the noise.)

I sugest to pull this up to the release branch, as this bug breaks
at least NetBSD/prep on the IBM 7043 (43P-140).
