What would you need powerpc object files to setup a cross-compiler, perhaps on
a completely different architecture? That is, I'm cross-compiling on a sparc,
so what would I do with a powerpc object file other than link the programs
that I had compiled to run on the target architecture? No point in having
a powerpc object file for a program running on the sparc, don't you think?

Ciao,
Wolfgang
