According to TURBOchannel specification, MAXINE user manual and
experiments to check the document validity, console variable can take
character s to select serial console, characters other than s
tickstart probing process of any TC frame buffer option cards.  If
multiple framebuffers found installed, then the lowest numbered one is
used for video console.  For the latter purpose, it's a good practice
to have character * to choose video console.
