A kernel built from last night's sup run apparently runs normally, but none
of the normal messages after "root file system type: ffs" appear on the con-
sole screen during boot.

dmesg(1) doesn't show 'em, either ...

(This is during a boot to multiuser mode, when it oughta be saying lots of
stuff about starting daemons, etc.)

My previous kernel, which booted without this problem, was a 1.4U kernel
from a sup run done early in the morning of March 14.
