Michael Hitch provided solutions to prevent DECstation from entering
in-kernel debugger mode accidentally.  Observed from your symptom the
PC accidentally emits BREAK condition on serial port upon sleep/wakeup
power management event.  You'd have a similar trouble when the PC used
as any SPARC consoles.  Just curious to know it happens...
