It makes at least as far as probing the SCSI bus (it reports the
internal disk OK).  When I get a chance, I'll capture the output from
booting it again.

(BTW, the exact same serial line works perfectly as a console for a
sparc, so it's unlikely to be due to setup errors on the other end..)
