Surprisingly enough, the patchkit that I threw together with zero
testing (not even a compile) seems to be working well for people.
It contains all the new console goo though... On ftp.netbsd.org,
you'll find:

/pub/NetBSD/arch/pmax/patches/unsupported/px-patchkit.tar.gz

This changes quite a lot of stuff, so using a copy of 1.4 syssrc 
would be a good idea.
