It sounds like you can still change things by (probably) booting off
whatever medium you used to install the system.  Are various programs

	-rwxr-xr-x  1 root  wheel  1400682 Dec 12 15:30 /netbsd*
	-r-xr--r--  1 bin   bin     250364 Dec 11 14:07 /sbin/init*

and there should be about 450-odd devices and files in /dev.  Is this
the case?
