Another thing to check is to make sure there is a /usr/libexec/ld.so
linked to /usr/libexec/ld.elf_so. I don't think 'as' was relinked for 1.3.2
and will still reference the old dynamic loader. If /usr/libexec/ld.so
doesn't exists, I think 'as' will exhibit this same behaviour.
I just verified that base.tgz on ftp.netbsd.org was correct, and it would
appear that it is.
