Hmm - not that easy on some international keyboard layouts ;-)
(This beeing typed on a vt420 with german keyboard and '[' created
by pressing "Gruppenumsch" and "8" together)

Ctrl-3 produces 'ESC' on this one as well, as does the key labeled "^",
after configuring the appropriate options in the setup screens.
