Hi=20

I am trying my first install on a 5000/240 using the excellent =
instructions recently posted. My helper machine is a Sun 4m running =
sunos 4.1 Everything seems to be going OK except for a couple of things =
that are not so clear.

I have created two exported directories, /usr/export/root and =
/usr/export/swap and unpacked the diskimage in root. The instructions =
say to execute MAKEDEV to create the device files, firstly the files =
all exist (although with 0 length) also MAKEDEV fails mknod not found. =
(this problem solved by altering the path statement in MAKEDEV to point =
to mknod /usr/etc) now the script runs but gives file already exists =
errors. What am I missing here?

The second point is a reference to copying the disklabel bits into =
/usr/mdec but there is no /usr should there be or do I create it?

Thanks in advance

Tony
