Hi all,
I'm running NetBSD on a 5000/120 with a PMAG-AA in TC slot 0. So far, I've
been using the 0.9 version without any problem. Trying to upgrade to 1.2,
I'm experiencing the following problems with the snapshot area on
ftp.netbsd.org as of 09-Nov-1996:
- The netbsd kernel only gets as far as "Starting at 0x80030000" and then
hangs.
- The newnetbsd kernel just goes a little further and puts the monitor
into some funny graphics mode, with unreadable text in the upper part of
the monitor. The lower part still contains the console messages from
before. After a few more seconds, yet another mode is entered where the
screen turns completely black (it seems), without any obvious
possibility of interacting with the system.
The same behaviour is shown by the netbsd kernel from the miniroot.
Anybody has any idea what goes wrong, and how to avoid it?
Cheers,
Helge
