[[X server problems on 3100]]

The way it's meant to work, when using a kernel with my edition of
Ted's framebuffer/console code, is that /dev/mosue should be a link to
/dev/fb0. /dev/fb0 should be a char device with major id 86, minor 0.

If dmesg isn't working then you might have a kernel that doesn't have
the "newconfig" framebuffer/console code, or has buggy colormap
handling, in which case I don't know if the X server works in any
useful sense.
