avm is active virtual memory, not total VM.  What does the output of
'pstat -s' show?  I get this:

Device      1K-blocks     Used    Avail Capacity  Type
/dev/rz0b       65025        4    65021     0%    Interleaved

but then, I've always had enough physical memory that I haven't had to
swap yet...
