You don't say what *kind* of decstation you're trying to boot on.
If it's really a pmax (3100 or 2100), there's a problem with the
interrupt-enable code. Do a hard reset, *disconnect* the machine
from a live Ethernet, connect a loopback connector or terminated T.
Install the miniroot, and boot. It should ``just work''.
