Subject: new toolchain + ELF + sched. activations

My guess is that within a few weeks, scheduler activations are going
to be turned on in all ports, which pretty much guarantees that unless
someone does the work for the pc532 that the port will not compile
after that. Just about every other port is spoken for. (Note that
making the port not break when SAs are added and having working SAs in
the port are not the same -- the work to just make sure the kernel
still compiles isn't much.)

Also, it appears that although people don't want the port to die, no
one seems to be actively working on making the new toolchain work on
the pc532, let alone doing the ELF conversion. :(

Without new toolchain support, it will not be possible to maintain the
pc532 port and will be hard to cross compile it (and practically every
other port is soon going to be built every night on a tinderbox
machine.)

I'm worried that the port is pretty much destined to break within
weeks. I know a lot of people seem to have enthusiasm for keeping it
working but enthusiasm and actual work are not the same thing.
