Well,  here it is...  (Actually, I've had a panic or two before, but that
was caused by upgrade problems, etc.)  The machine had been idle in this
(login) state for somewhere between 0 and 24 hours.  Console log follows:

If you want or need more info, just ask.  It may not be particularly
relevant, if the old ncr driver is going out real soon.  Esp. considering
that I've been running this for about a year now, and this is the first one
without a real obvious cause.
