yah, i noticed this myself, when compiling on an architecture whose
native compiler didn't support -R...
as far as i can tell, it's not particularly useful, esp. on systems
which support demand paging (well, actually page sharing, but... 8-).
i'm going to remove them; thanks for reminding me. 8-)
