As far as I know, Matthias is the only one running shared libs.  I 
haven't had time to do the last few things to get it working.  And
there was a gcc bug that made ld crash and burn.  I just got the
gcc fix recently ... so shared libs *ARE* on the list and when
I have them running well, I'll include them in the distribution.
