I cross build from Solaris, myself.

I've heard from others that the AMD supplied cross-build environment is
busted.

Maybe it is worthwhile for me to investigate this.  Unfortunately, at
this moment in time, I don't even *have* a Windows machine. :-)  (All my
equipment runs some sort of UNIX -- most often Solaris.)
