Hi Garrett,
I have standardized all of my design projects on the MIPS32 and/or MIPS64
architectures. I have made AMD's Alchemy line of devices my first choice
when I have begin selecting a device for a new project. About 4 months ago
I seriously looked at using NetBSD as the foundation for an Au1100 based
consumer oriented device that I am developing. While I found NetBSD
contained everything that I needed, I use Win2kPro and Cygwin as my
development platform and quite frankly the few times that I tried to cross
build NetBSD for my Au1100 software development board, it failed miserably.
After about a week of debugging the configuration scripts to get NetBSD to
cross build on Cygwin/bash, I gave up and chose WinCE v5.0 and the
easy-to-use associated toolset.

I have other projects coming up that will use Alchemy devices. If you know
of a method that I can use to resolve the Cygwin/bash build problems, I
would be willing to help at that time.

Best Regards,

Charles L. Nelson
