It looks like if crypto/dist/openssl/crypto/rand/md_rand.c is compiled
with -O2, it returns 0.  It works correctly if compiled with -O1.

BTW, ...

... this should be read:

< 	unsigned char buf;
< 	printf("%d", RAND_pseudo_bytes(&buf, 1));
