right, so, i think that's a bit much.  8-)

the sheer number of different MIPS cpu types is ... fairly impressive,
and it's getting larger every day.

in fact, the kernel-level differences between many that are identified
differently are minimal.  So, it's probably overkill.

You could cut it down a bit by saying well, this define means this
family of CPUs... but personally i always find it annoying to remember
things like exactly which CPU falls in which option, and the
documentation in the config files is often not complete...
