FYI, the PS/2 has a FireWire (a.k.a. "Sony i.Link", IEEE 1394) 
interface. There's mass storage available for that interface, and 
*preliminary* work towards a NetBSD FireWire driver has been 
committed to the source tree.

So, I think you'll get your wish soon.
