I've just converted my main development pmax from using /etc/rc to
/etc/rc.d. Using a profiling kernel (with profiling off), it took 24sec
and 23sec on two runs to get from "swapctl: adding ..." to the login
prompt. With /etc/rc.d, it took 40sec and 42sec to do the same. With
a non-profiling kernel it took 41s, so the profiling didn't make a real
difference.

I don't have any R3000 boxes against which I can make the same
comparison - anyone got some hard figures?

Simon.
