There were two NetBSD/arc efforts.  One was to backport the
OpenBSD/arc code to NetBSD.  This one had snapshots from time to time, 
but always had enough trouble building it that I didn't track it.
There was also a rumored NetBSD/arc which was 64 bit, but I don't
think that saw the light of day either.

However, this discussion is moot to the MIPS PC-50 that we're talking
about in Big Endian Mode.  That machine would need new boot roms
and/or the special disk from MIPS To turn it into a little endian arc 
machine.
