Fresh NetBSD 9 installation fails to boot in Qemu

I just installed NetBSD/macppc 9.0 in a Qemu VM by booting the NetBSD/macppc ISO image and running through the installer. It installed to a fresh 8G "raw" image -- so no existing partition map, etc.

The installation went perfectly fine, but now booting from the (virtual) hard drive results in:

I booted back to the installer image, and verified that /netbsd is present.

Any ideas?
