Hello,

Has anyone else run into this?

The machine is a "Quicksilver" G4, running NetBSD 5.0.2

What kind of audio hardware is it? I only have a snapper and various different awacs models here and they don't show this behaviour. It's possible that some mixer/output/whatever settings don't get committed to the hardware until something actually touches them.
Guess I need to get me one of the later G4 models one of these days.

have fun
Michael
