Nope, I don't even own a firewire cable, let alone any 
devices.

Thanks though.  

It now says (with no kernel driver)

Apple Computer product 0x0018 (Firewire serial bus, interface 0x10, 
revision 0x01) at pic2 dev 14 function 0 not configured
