Hmm, is the last output you get in black ( coming via firmware ) or 
some other color, usually green ( coming from the kernel's console 
driver ) ?
I'm trying to find out where exactly your machine hangs, one obvious 
candidate would be the console setup. If you see non-black text we're 
past that.
