It would be nice if someone with the right hardware could do this.

And whatever software they run isn't likely to touch /dev/audio and 
friends - I wonder how exactly that could become a problem. The awacs 
interrupts are edge triggered and internal to mac-io - shouldn't be 
shared with anything.
