Sounds like a cable problem. On the other hand ATA66 vs. ATA100 is 
hardly a loss, I doubt that any of the other drives could even come 
close to saturating an ATA33 channel.

Ok, this likely IS a cable problem. Other operating systems probably 
wouldn't complain here and just silently downgrade transfer speed.

I'm using KDE 3.5.whatever on a 333MHz G3 - compiling is slow but using 
it is fine. If you have a Radeon and enable XRENDER acceleration it 
should be fairly snappy on the G4.

So, what's the matter with the Mini?
