Ok, we can probably do something about that - I have something that can 
toggle CPU speed on my 800MHz iBook G4. For that I need some 
information though - please mail me the output of 'ofctl -p'

Umm, you mode certainly do NOT want to copy the kernel to a hfs 
partition. Put it on a NetBSD ffs or Apple UFS partition, I'm fairly 
sure ofwboot.xcf doesn't know how to deal with hfs.
