i read that it is a problem with the IDE firmware which is used for the
boot process to access the disk. So as far as NetBSD is concerned it
should be no problem at all because the bootloader is always located at
the beginning of the disk. Once the loader has started it is able
to access the whole drive as it doesn't depend on the IDE firmware.
