As far as I can tell the Type 6 USB is HID-only - PS2-to-USB adaptors
for instance don't work with it - apparently PCish USB keyboards support
some sort of PS2 compatibility mode which is probably the same as the
bootprotocol you mentioned.
Besides that, the Meta key on a Type 6 should send the same scancode as
Command on an Apple keyboard ( or the left Windows-key on a PC keyboard
), the Power and Volume keys are compatible ( at least they work in
MacOS ).
