if you are using mc0 (network card)
then I would suggest you netbsd-3 from ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD-daily/netbsd-3 and take
netbsd-GENERIC.MP.gz kernel to boot your installation from, mc0 started to work perfectly fine
with this kernel for me. I hope that helps.
