I'm using:
uname -a
NetBSD wally 2.0.2 NetBSD 2.0.2 (GENERIC) #0: Tue Mar 22 16:19:08 UTC 2005
jmc@faith.netbsd.org:/home/builds/ab/netbsd-2-0-2-RELEASE/macppc/200503220140Z-obj/home/builds/ab/netbsd-2-0-2-RELEASE/src/sys/arch/macppc/compile/GENERIC
macppc
when booting normally and I can tell you for sure that mc0 on 2.1.rc5 kernel worked better than on
2.0.2 generic. I believe that the reason a lot of people are getting different performances with
same mc0 having same kernel are because of networking equipment they use or rather level of
intelligence of their equipment, I've got old 24port HP hub, and all network activity goes from
all pcs in my house to others (which are 4 at the moment + router) so 2.0.2 kernel seemed to
handle things much worse than 2.1.rc5.
 that was my opinion.
