DRI won't work anyway ( no kernel support ), so glx will run
software-only. I didn't see any crashes related to any of these
anywhere.

Depends - do they have kernel-support for DRI? Then it's unlikely to be

As long as we don't have any details we can't tell. And no, there are no
plans to move to xorg - if you want xorg you can always compile it from
pkgsrc but the next NetBSD release will use XFree86 4.5.
