eek, ok, I'll fix that. Yes, my macppc source is badly out of sync.

It shouldn't. Looks like I should run NetBSD on my iBook again with a
fresh kernel...

btw. have a look at mixerctl -a - it should have two new controls, bass
and treble. Another feature of the audio chip that MacOS X doesn't seem
to use.
