It works fine for me on my dual 450MHz G4.

It works fine with the builtin speaker on my Powermac; I have yet to try the
audio output in the back of the workstation.  I didn't have to do anything
special to make it work; I just built a custom kernel.  I'm not sure how to
help, but I'd be willing to share my kernel configuration and run any tests
you can think of.
