I did something that was long due: upgraded all my userland to 2.0.2. I
was still runnng some pre2 stuff :)
as a kernel, still michael's one.
The update included an Xserver of course.

if on one siede I was suprpised to SEE something on my screen when I
started it, it is not very usable. it contains vertical lines that are
shifted bits or something similar. I suspect that there are endianness
problems or bit alignment problems.
Interestingly a xwd dump conserves this property.
