It'd have made sense to sell OS X for x86 and keep PowerPC for those of us
willing to pay more for quality and / or high end performance.
It's a shame that there are no good GUIs for free Unix. If we had a good
GUI, this wouldn't matter much, but at the moment I use OS X as my desktop
OS. But I don't like x86 - I did my stint with Z80, and I like having more
registers than I can count on my fingers...
Oh, well! And I thought we were finally coming out of the dark ages of
computing - and maybe we still are, slowly, but moving to such a
legacy-limited architecture is definitely a step backwards...
