I'm still running 1.6.2 on the beige g3 without serious flaws
(occasionally the kernel gets stuck initializing the hard drive). However,
any 2.0.x kernel still refuses to boot completely. The GENERIC kernel
seems to get stuck on: 

"scsibus0: waiting 2 seconds for devices to settle..."

I've tried using the workaround posted here: 
http://www.netbsd.org/cgi-bin/query-pr-single.pl?number=25966

However, despite changing wdcdebug_mask to 0x10, the machine still has 
problems with the harddrive. 

Anyone with a beige g3 have any success booting from their ide hard disk?
