Hmm, there's no error message in the log and your config looks good -
pretty similar to mine.

That's my Device section:

Section "Device"
     Identifier "radeon"
     Driver "radeon"
     Option	"MMIO" "on"
     Option "MonitorLayout" "LVDS"
     Option	"iBookHacks" "on"
     Option	"PanelSize" "1024x768"
EndSection

I'm not sure I really need Panelsize or Monitorlayout, they're
leftovers from me trying to get it to work. Driver "radeon" shouldn't
make much of a difference either, accorging to your log the driver
works but it may be worth trying.

So, XFree either thinks everything works fine or it's been unable to
write to the log, the latter is rather unlikely. Did you try running X
with a minimal setup ( just 'exec xterm' in your .xinitrc ) ? It looks
more like your session ended for some reason and what you got is the
hosed-up console X likes to leave behind ( it should work tough, just
press enter )

good luck
Michael
