hi,

i first mentioned it in october last year when -current stopped working  
on my G4 (was G4/400 back then, is now a G4/450MP due to a CPU  
daughterboard swap :)

however, on my G3 the same happened. as i didn't have a serial port  
neither on my G3 nor the G4, i was not able to provide further  
information. by now, i have a serial port in the G3, the one for the G4  
is being delivered :)

okay, so a few seconds ago i tried to boot -current on the G3 (pretty  
vanilla machine except more RAM and a Radeon 8500):
